FAQ
- How long will my extensions last?
- Your extensions will last 3 months at which point they must be completely removed and re-applied, if you have followed the aftercare for the hair there is no reason why it could not be re-used. It is advisable to have a maintenance appointment every 4-6 weeks to check the bonds and replace any that have come loose.
- How long does my own hair have to be for extensions?
- For extensions to blend properly your hair should be long enough to tie back into a little ponytail. Also if your hair is cut with a blunt line, this would need to be softened with some layers so that your extensions blend with your natural hair better.
- Will extensions damage my hair?
- If applied well and maintained and cared for properly, your extensions will not damage your hair. Microrings and tube locs are proven to be the safest and gentlelest method currently available.
- Will they match my hair?
- Extensions come in a wide variety of colours and textures that are matched individually to you at the consultation stage.
- Will they fall out if I brush it too hard?
- If you are very rough and do not follow the brushing guidelines you may snag some and pull them out, but gentle correct brushing will not cause them to fall out.
- I’m worried they’ll feel unnaturally heavy?
- It will take you a few days to become used to your new extensions, but they are not “heavy” and you’ll be having a lot of fun with your new glamorous look, you’ll soon get used to them.
- Can I use a hairdryer, and other styling equipment?
- With human hair all are fine, but you will need to refer to the manufacturer if you have synthetic hair.
- I don’t like using a hairdryer all the time, can I let my hair dry naturally?
- Yes, treat your extensions just like your own hair, but do not sleep with wet hair, it is advisable to dry the bonds even if you are letting the lengths dry naturally.
- Will people know I’m wearing extensions?
- Not if you don’t tell them, extensions are placed discreetly to hang naturally.
- My friend said that they will make my hair fall out, is this true?
- No, but remember everyone sheds approximately 100 hairs a day naturally, when you have extensions in this shed hair remains inside the bond so that when they are removed some hair comes too – this is often mistaken for hair being pulled out. If extensions caused the damage that some people think they do, they simply wouldn’t be allowed.
- What about removing them?
- Removal should be done by a qualified extensionist, if you remove them incorrectly you will be responsible for any damage you do to your hair, although damage is extremely rare.
